The second tour starts soon!
In 2012 North by North East will be showcasing 4 new productions across Rural Aberdeenshire in the east, through Cairngorms and Moray, to Highland and the Outer Hebrides in the west. Each tour has a different starting and finishing point and each will travel & perform in 10 venues.
Connections - Cape Breton and Scotland by Dannsa - Dannsa showcases and encourages participation in the best of Scottish traditional dance and aim to conserve our dance heritage for future generations. Dannsa celebrates the rich culture and infectious energy of Traditional Scottish Dance; Scottish Step Dance, Scotch Reels, Hebridean Dance and Highland Dance. (Touring Scotland from 22nd March to 20th April 2012)

Jamp! by Bright Night International - JAMP tells stories of extraordinary meetings on an ordinary street. A simple bench and a bus stop become a meeting point, a playpark, a hiding place or a battleground. JAMP is new circus-theatre for Scotland – mischievous, playful, tough and fearless. (Touring Scotland from 21st April to 5th May 2012)

A Sporting Chance by Cartoon Theatre - Let the fun and games begin! A comedy adventure as one man battles with his personal athletic best. Combines live performance and animation. (Touring Scotland 12th May to 26th May 2012).

From These Parts by Right Lines Productions - An alien abduction comedy, “From These Parts” explores the changing population in the Highlands - and what it means to be local in a cosmic context. a fast moving comedy that examines the issue of migration to and from the highlands on local, national and intergalactic levels! We ask the questions - why do people come, why do people stay and why do they go? Furthermore, what exactly does it mean to be a local? The show will explore Scottish cultural identity in a comedy context that hilariously blends science fiction with everyday life.
